One of my favourite discoveries is the Yoplait saveur d’autrefois (“flavours of old”) yogurt that I can get at the Brussels-South train station. It consists of thick and creamy traditional cultured yogurt sitting on a bed of fruit, in an old fashioned glazed terracotta pot. A world of difference from the runny fluorescent pink yogurt they sell in America in those strange plastic inverted cups. Just one of the many reasons I much prefer living on this side of the Atlantic.

  1. Well, the nasty version is light and fat free. Which is why it sucks. But you’re right. I’ve found some good yogurt here that is reasonable in calories and tastes much better.

  2. Maybe the problem was the selection of ‘Light’ as opposed to ‘Original’ or ‘Thick and Creamy’ Yoplait. The inverted cup is good packaging…allows one to easily scoop out the last fruity bits along the bottom (the container is also recyclable). And the US Yoplait has been involved with breast cancer awareness for as long as i can remember with their ‘Save Lids to Save Lives’ initiative. What more can one ask from their cultured dairy snack?
