Our kittens have started to display an intense fascination with the bathroom. Pepper (above) now refuses to drink from her water bowl, and instead licks the drips from the bathroom sink from a very uncomfortable position.

They are also very interested in the bath, both when empty and full. However, this ended very badly for little Mint last week. I was filling up the bath when I heard a dreadful splashing, only to see a sopping wet creature running from the room and hiding under the bed. The poor thing, she must have fallen all the way in while walking across the rim, and was completely soaked from ear to paw. She looked miserable, and was attempting to lick herself dry with her tiny little tongue. Luckily, it was warm inside and she dried off quickly, her fur sticking every which way.

  1. Those pictures are hilarious!

  2. Oy, poor little thing! Luna was very curious about the bathtub last week while CB and I were in the bath. Eventually she got the courage to smack the water once with her paw and then she looked so disgusted at her wet paw. It was hysterical.

  3. Pepper is quite the gymnast balancing on such a tiny ledge! Good to hear other kitties don’t prefer their water bowl either. Suma loves to jump into the empty bathtub and then meows until one of us will run the tap. She’ll stand in the flow getting a couple paws and tail wet while she drinks. Weirdo…
